NPGA Board Gathers in Fargo for Fall Meeting and Industry Tours
Strategic planning, advocacy and policy development, research, and innovation take center stage as NPGA focuses on the future of pulse growers.
The Northern Pulse Growers Association (NPGA) Board of Directors recently gathered at the Peltier Complex in Fargo, North Dakota, for its two-day fall board meeting, bringing together grower leaders from Montana and North Dakota.
The meeting focused on strategic planning, including the review and approval of the association’s strategic plan, which will help guide NPGA’s priorities, programs, and initiatives in the years ahead. Directors also conducted regular association business, including discussions on advocacy and policy development, and reviewed issues and opportunities impacting pulse producers across the region.
Afternoon activities provided opportunities for board members to connect with researchers and industry partners through tours of the Northern Crops Institute, NDSU greenhouses, the new Bolley Agricultural Laboratory, and Grand Farm. These visits offered a firsthand look at research, innovation, and emerging technologies supporting agriculture and the pulse industry.
Keeping Growers at the Heart of Every Decision
For NPGA, strategic planning is about more than setting organizational goals. It’s about making sure the voices and needs of Montana and North Dakota pulse growers continue to guide the association’s work.

From advocating for producer priorities and developing policies that reflect growers’ needs to supporting practical research, strengthening industry partnerships, and sharing valuable information, NPGA remains focused on helping growers navigate challenges and identify new opportunities.
The fall meeting reinforced the importance of connecting research, innovation, and effective advocacy with real-world needs on the farm, ensuring that the association’s efforts deliver meaningful value to the growers it represents.
NPGA extends its appreciation to the researchers, staff, and industry partners who welcomed our board and shared their work, as well as to our grower directors for their continued leadership and commitment to the pulse industry.
Our takeaway is simple: Every conversation, every partnership, and every decision should lead back to one goal—supporting the growers who make our pulse industry strong.
